Open Source
As me, the author promised, you can get hold of the source code of AKAINOID anytime as the envelope editors in Program Mode have been done (allthough they might not be perfect and bug-free by now). Just send an email to the adress shown in the applications's about box (there's a screenshot of the box in the contact section of this web-site), introduce yourself and please write a few lines about your motivation on why you want to get the code. Make sure, the email's subject includes the word AKAINOID in capital letters.
Possible reasons are:
- You're a C coder as well and want to help getting this project to a v1.0 state or even further
- help improving the existing code (especially in terms of performance) because you actually are an MROS, TOS, Pure C or MIDI expert (this project has been my first Atari ST software project since approximately 1995 and my very first ever in Pure C by ASH).
- an additional backup of my code in case I should die or my small flat burns down or is bombed to rubble in a war on Germany (these are irregular times, so I had to mention it).
- educational reasons: you want to learn how to build your own MIDI/Pure C applications
- pure curiosity
You basically haven't got a clue how to program a single line of code? Well, you can still help considered you are a pixel magician and got a hand
for designing monochrome icons or better images? Run your Papillion or any other image editor of your choice on your (emulated) Atari ST
and have a go on the .IMG icons in the corresponding subdirectory of the latest release.
If I like the whole set, they will replace my set or will be added as "alternative skins" if I find multiple sets to be really good.
Just make sure width and height in pixels of the images stay exactly the same.
When you're done, just send them to me as an attachment to the email adress mentioned above. Also make sure, the email's subject includes the word
AKAINOID in capital letters.
Your help is really apporeciated!
In addition I always appreciate bug reports and constructive criticism or your ideas about additional features (even when they are a bit over the top). Just send an email to the address mentioned earlier in this paragraph (and no other adress) and I'll do my best to reply (with an attachment or download link) within a fortnight. Make sure, the email's subject includes the word AKAINOID in capital letters.
